Amarnath Helicopter Yatra
Helicopter services are provided to cover the distance between Baltal and Panjtarni and between Pahalgam and Panjtarni for the convenience of the devotees every year during the Amarnath Yatra in the months of July and August.
While doing Amarnath Yatra by helicopter there is saving of four days of trekking and distance to be travelled reduces to six kilometers from a total of thirty four kilometers. Advance booking of helicopter services is advisable as ther may be huge rush during the Amarnath Yatra.
Instructions given by the Helicopter services personnel must be followed strictly. Shri Amarnath Caves are 6 kilometres from Panjtarni and that distance has to be either covered on foot or on ponies or palkies.
In case of cancellations of Amarnath Yatra helicopter tickets following are the charges
• 0-59 minutes before the take-off- No refund
• 60-23.59 hours before the take off- 50% refund
• 24 hours- 47.59 hours prior to the take off- 70% refund
• 48 hours or more prior to the take-off- Full refund (admission charges shall be deducted)
• Flight cancellation by Operator- Full Refund
• Traveller(s) did not show up- No refund
